Knitting content here today. I am learning about cables by trying the Irish Hiking Scarf, thanks to inspiration from the Yarn Harlot. Working from my stash, I've chosen pinks--Kashmir Aran by Louise Harding, ribbon & fur yarn scraps, and a fuzzy Berrocco. I am easily bored, so have chosen these different yarns to keep myself awake as I knit this long piece. Hope this will be the first FO on the 2007 Xmas list. I have a recipient in mind who loves pink, girly things, and this will be for her.
Am about ready to start a sweater, so stay tuned for more knit news.
On other fiber fronts, my small show of prints and fused art quilts is up and looks great. Fotos forthcoming.
I'm back at the African quilt, and hoping for time to myself for fusing and printmaking. Here's a promise for more pix and a prompt post.
Lots of snow and cold winter weather have kept me indoors with lovely books by Mary Wesley and some movie watching with the DD and DH. This week's favorite movie was I Capture the Castle, based on the book by Dodie Smith (101 Dalmatians fame). Beautiful. Set in Britain between the Wars.
Another gift wtih the winter weather has been a long quiet spell on the couch with DD a ball of yarn and a pair of needles. She's a natural. I have a list of "skills" I think I must pass on beofre she goes to college in August. Knitting is one of them.
