I'm Back Home

It has been awhile since I last posted. A lot of miles have been added to the odometer since my last entry. One of the things I did was spend 10 days at Rutgers University--I'm taking myself back to Library School for some continuing ed work. Took my sewing machine with me and did a little work in my hotel room at night. I worked a bit on my Chirstmas quilt that I'm making as a gift and I worked on my 2" block quilt, but realized that I need an infusion of some new brights. I'm getting tired of the same, limited palette.

At home I started (at last!) a new fused piece combining silk on cotton. Photo forthcoming. I'm at the embellishing/embroidering stage so the piece is revealing itself to me. I hope to have some evening time to myself so that I can finish it. Lucky the quilters who have the day light hours to themselves and their quilts!

On my reading table are 3 books: When the Heart Waits, by Sue Monk Kidd; Gilead by Marilynne Robinson (just won the Pulitzer); and The Forest Lover by Susan Vreeland.
