Finally finished! Here's a quilt that was started last year on viewing a fabulous exhibit of Nancy Crow's new work. Trying to learn from her, I triple dyed the fabrics, then machine pieced the top. How is it that an entire year can pass between times working on a project? This weekend I spent some time with the quilt and finished the backing and the quilting. Voila!
In preparation for my November's art show, I gave myself a mini art retreat weekend. While I worked on some painting and color theory (and the above quilt), I also tried tearing apart ugly clay monoprints and sewing them back together. The jury is still out on how effective this new technique is, so if you want to weigh in and leave me a comment, that would be welcome.
I've been thinking here about doors and windows; the comings and goings of our lives.
