Mini Quilt--Revelation


The idea for this little quilt came to me during a rare, quiet meditative moment. The design actually came vividly on the inside of my eyelids when they were closed. So vividly, that I knew I had to capture the image on paper before I forgot it. The colors were hot pink and this green, not the purples that I finally used. Maybe I can try it again with the pinks. The quilt is fused using hand-dyed cottons.


I worked up the top at Hemlocks during my week of art camp. The photo of me avec Camp Coiffure is in our treetop studio. On the design wall behind are two clayprints which are drying.

Close ups of the quilt don't show the quilting very well. I used green thread which looks great in person.

Here's one more for the upcoming September show.
