Here's a WIP, the third in my Blue series destined for the local quilt festival at Bethany College in August. This piece is made of fused hand painted silks and hand dyed cottons and measures about 25" square. I am in the process of machine quilting and then will emblellish with 1 1/2" antique mother of pearl buttons to add focal points at the center of each wheel.
Ezekiel's Blues is still not finished because of the falling out I've had with my machine. The LQS just called to say that they've fixed the cursed thing and so maybe I can get on with this quilt. I bought this machine so that I could machine quilt, my ancient White has been with me thru thick n thin and 30 years. I have been pretty disappointed in this Pfaff and its ability to quilt. At first I was pretty sure it was the operator, lately I've decided that altho the operator isn't great, it's not entirely her fault and that the machine may have some part to play in the problem.
On the home front, my clayprint left last night for the juried show in Charleston, WV. Yippee! I join the ranks of some wonderful local artists. I leave tonite for another trip to the Cleveland Clinic with my dad, so will be away from blogland til Monday. And at long last, I collect my DD on Saturday from her 3 week arts camp. Our house has been so quiet without her and her lovely loud friends. It's been quite a stark reminder of how our lives will change in just two more years.
