Chihuly at the Phipps




The DH and I spent our 31st wedding anniversary in the Burgh at Phipps Conservatory. They have completed a huge restoration and expansion project and are celebrating by bringing Chihuly and his magical glass creations to our part of the world. I saw this. OMG how heart-stoppingly beautiful the installations are! I have included my photos in a google album. You can see them here. Especially enspiring were his drawings. Somehow they look like my clayprints. Amazingly, they let me take photos of the drawings, you'll see in the album, so I hope to have them in the studio for inspiration as I do my new work. The colors, the textures, the echoing of shapes found first in leaves and then in glass--all were stunning
