Knitting Knirvana

On the knitting front, I have been a busy girl. The weekly knitting clatches at the library have proved to be fun and well attended. Bev Beatty, fiber diva, is doing the teaching, I'm the cheerleader, and as you can see, I'm getting some knitting done, too.
On Friday evening I drove thru highway workzones, rush hour traffic, and thunder & lightning to the Burgh to see the Yarn Harlot in all her splendor.
Stephanie Pearl-McPhee was speaking at Knit One, a new (to me) LYS in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh. What a beautiful store, what gorgeous yarn, and what a crowd! Filled to capacity and standing room only, over 200 people came to hear the Yarn Harlot. And she was really worth it! Funny. Articulate. Warm & empathic. A great time was had by all. I managed to escape with only one ball of yarn for, what else, new sox and two pattern books that I've been dreaming about for months "Colinette Pattern Books: Rock Gods & Movie Stars ." Also a Colinette book of throws and pillows.

Sorry so small, but I bought a pin from Stephanie to prove to you that I was there. It is a Knitters without Borders pin supporting Doctors without Borders.

And finally, am getting a fused quilt & 2 clay monopriants ready for submission to our local art show. Keep your fingers crossed. Maybe the quilt will break into the local art world. Posted by Picasa

Ya' know, I was thinking about learning to knit or crochet...I have done either since I was in my teens other than crocheted the cloth baskets which were popular back in the 80's. There are 2 of those groovy knit places here, and I'm thinking that it would be an easy haul to go hang out and get me out of the house on a regular basis for some fun. I'll let you know if I finally succumb. :) I love the socks!
