COLOR
I love what Karoda says in her blog today about color--about how when life is too mean, and you get to feeling just too low down, just seeing the "lines of color...and for a few seconds of meditaion all seems in order and right with the world."

Her beautiful words make me think about my own need for color--how when I was in counseling I kept saying that I needed to do something--paint, quilt, something-- in color. What was lacking, depleated? What is there in color that is stimulating and rejuvenating? What is there about color that feeds & nourishes?

Tomorrow I will attend two lectures at the AQS show in Wheeling, and guess what? They are on "Color for Quilters"! Yippee! I'll be nurtured and filled and hopefully can come home in the afternoon to fuse!

Saw on the Artfabr!k page that Laura has a new idea--fusing on black to look like a woodcut. I LOVE woodcuts! I will take another look at Blanche Lazell's work (although that would mean white backgrounds) and of course Mary Azarian's work. This could be oh, so cool! I'll post a copy of one of Laura's woodblock quilts.

Cheryl, please post about the lectures and have fun! Did it warm up there today...it reached in the 50s here and that was after starting my morning with a thick coat of frost covering my car from back to front...
