Block o' the Month

Well, folks, I'm at an impasse of sorts. I need YELLOW! I've used up all the wonderful hand-dyed fabrics that I bought from Melody last month. And my LQS had few if any bold colors, only drab, "lives with lichens on rocks" colors, and I have this YELLOW piece I call Golgotha, and I'm wanting to finish it. Maybe this all has something to do with the gray skies here in northern West Virginia and the "dense fog advisory" that keeps chirping on my weather bug. I found a miniature dye kit at my local Ben Franklin's (same company as found at Dharma Trading) and I think I just may have to break down and DYE MY OWN!

But in the mean time, I have joined a BOTM club. This particular BOTM supports my LQS and guarantees that I have a Xmas wall-hanging to give as a gift in December. Of course, I'm going to try to do 2 blocks a month and have 2 wall-hanging gifts, so while I'm waiting for yellow and dreaming of a new FUZE project, I'm keeping my hands busy and out of the cookie jar.

My knitting projects are caught up too. I finished the scarf from The Knit Stitch and just need to block it and bury all those little ends. It is so beautiful--cobalt Sari ribbon with flecks of primary, rainbow colors alongside. Mmm! Get that digital camera already!

Cheryl, you are right, it is very hard to find good yellows. I buy them whenever I see them, just so I have them on hand. If you have some fabric paint, you can always paint over the icky yellows you have. Good luck with your BOTM.
